Members of the UBE NCVT Chapter joined Episcopalians from across the country last month in Raleigh, North Carolina, for the Union of Black Episcopalians’ 58th annual conference. The gathering marked a return to Raleigh, where UBE was founded in 1968.
Highlights included a visit to St. Augustine’s University, a historically Black university affiliated with The Episcopal Church and the site of UBE’s founding gathering. Participants worshiped in the university’s historic chapel, and former Presiding Bishop Michael B. Curry delivered a keynote address during the gala dinner.
