Juneteenth Celebration at Grace Cathedral

Worshipers gathered on the labyrinth at Grace Cathedral on Sunday evening, June 15, for this year’s diocesan Juneteenth celebration. The Afro-Anglican Commission (AAC) of the Diocese and the Northern California Vivian Traylor Chapter of the Union of Black Episcopalians (UBE) sponsored the Eucharist.

The presider was the Rev. Canon J. Sierra Reyes, Canon to the Ordinary. The sermon was given by the Rev. Dr. Sakena Young-Scaggs, PhD, Senior Associate Dean for Religious & Spiritual Life at Stanford University and Pastor of Stanford Memorial Church.
